How far up Etna the car goes
On the south side the car reaches the Rifugio Sapienza square, about 40 km from Catania Airport. From there the Etna cable car climbs from 1,923 to 2,500 metres, 54 EUR return in 2026, if the weather allows. On the north side the road reaches Piano Provenzana, at about 1,800 metres, above Linguaglossa.
