There are two airports: Palermo Airport (Falcone Borsellino), about 86 km away, about 1 h 55 by car, and Trapani Airport (Birgi), about 52 km away, about 1 h 25. The last stretch of road is single carriageway and gets much slower in summer. From Palermo Airport the direct Autoservizi Russo coach runs: on the timetable of 21 October 2026 there are 5 departures, from 09:35 to 19:35, taking about 1 hour 25 minutes, on a 9.00 EUR ticket, but the published timetable shows no departures after 31 October 2026. With a private transfer from La Sicilia Tour, your driver meets you in arrivals with a name sign and takes you to San Vito, to your hotel where traffic rules allow, otherwise to the nearest point, agreed beforehand: 180 EUR by Standard Sedan for 1-3 people, 200 EUR by Standard Van for up to 8, per vehicle. From Palermo Airport: the Russo coach
The direct public link between Palermo Airport and San Vito Lo Capo is the Autoservizi Russo line. On the timetable of 21 October 2026 there are 5 departures, at 09:35, 10:35, 13:35, 15:35 and 19:35; on Sundays 4, without the 10:35. The trip takes about 1 hour 25 minutes and a ticket costs 9.00 EUR. The first coach leaves at 09:35: if you land at dawn you wait at the airport, and if you land after 19:35 there is no coach until the next day. In the timetable the company has loaded, the last date is Saturday 31 October 2026, and no departures appear from 1 November: the winter timetable is not confirmed. The coach drops you at the stop in town, and from there you carry on to your hotel on foot, with your suitcases.
Palermo AirportFrom Trapani Birgi
Trapani Airport (Birgi), run by Airgest, lies in the municipality of Misiliscemi and is the closest to San Vito, but it has no railway station. Taxis have an official fixed fare of 35.00 EUR only to Trapani or Marsala; to San Vito they run on the meter. The Salemi bus links Birgi with Palermo Airport and the city, not with San Vito, and for the AST bus to Trapani we found no published timetable. No direct public link from Birgi to San Vito appears to exist. By private transfer it is about 52 km, about 1 h 25, at a fixed price of 120 EUR by Standard Sedan and 145 EUR by Standard Van for up to 8. The winter 2026-2027 flight schedule at Birgi is not yet known: check your flight.
Trapani AirportSummer in San Vito: traffic and drop-off
San Vito Lo Capo changes pace in summer. The last stretch of road, a single carriageway, slows down a lot in the warm months, and journey times get longer than those on this page. For the town centre, the 2026 summer traffic rules are published neither on the council's website nor in the press: that is why a transfer takes you to your hotel where traffic rules allow, otherwise to the nearest point, agreed beforehand. September also brings the Cous Cous Fest, held from 18 to 27 September in 2026 and planned from 17 to 26 September in 2027: on those days the town fills up, so book early. Give your hotel address in the form and we confirm beforehand where the car will stop.
San Vito Lo CapoThe Zingaro reserve and Scopello
Between San Vito and Scopello lies the Zingaro nature reserve, on the sea. The north entrance is on the San Vito side: a ticket costs 5.00 EUR full price and 3.00 EUR reduced, electronic payment only, and according to the notice updated on 2 October 2026 the reserve opens every day from 08:00 to 16:00. Scopello lies on the other side of the reserve. From Palermo Airport to Scopello it is about 1 h 05, at a fixed price of 130 EUR by Standard Sedan; Castellammare del Golfo is about 44 minutes from the airport, at 100 EUR.

Not everyone reaches San Vito from the airport. From Palermo city centre, at the Teatro Massimo, it is about 106 km, about 2 h 05, at a fixed price of 255 EUR by Standard Sedan. From Trapani, where the hydrofoils from the Egadi Islands also come in, it is about 1 h 05, at 100 EUR. By public transport, the Segesta coach runs from Palermo Airport to Trapani: on the timetable of 21 October 2026 there are 16 departures, from 08:50 to 23:50, for 9.60 EUR, taking about 1 hour 5 minutes to the station, and the same timetable is already loaded for November and December. From Trapani to San Vito, though, you need another ride. Each trip has its own fixed price per vehicle, shown in the form before you book.

You head west along the coast: about 86 km, about 1 h 55 in normal traffic, longer in summer. In October 2026 the Russo coach timetable from Palermo Airport is loaded only up to Saturday 31 October, and no departures appear for November: a winter timetable may exist, but it is not published, so check with the company before you travel. The Segesta coach between Palermo Airport and Trapani carries on in November and December, but it does not reach San Vito. A private transfer does not depend on the coach season: you book it online at any hour, at least 1 day ahead, and the return from San Vito to Palermo Airport costs 180 EUR by Standard Sedan, in about 2 h.
